Gnome Wizard Necromancer
“Yes, whatever it takes,” she stammered, “just save my husband!” The woman stared into the darkness of the cave outside the small town of Blingheim in the Underdark.
There was a horrible evil presence inside it radiated outward when she uttered those words. “Oh, anything you say?…. very well he will recover from the poison, but, in return, you will have a boy a child but he will not be yours.. deep within will be the seed of darkness and he will be of my blood” … she paused in horror, but it was the only way.

She reached out her hand, trembling, and out from the darkness came a clawed hand as if it were from another realm. Barely able to reach it, she quickly grasp it and felt the searing pain of the soul bond and ran as quickly as she could away and never looked back.
It was as the darkness told her…her husband did recover, he was better than ever, but in a years time, at the stroke of midnight, she bore twins a son and a daughter; Minara and Zordanus.

Zordanus had a tendency for darkness just like foretold, but Minara was always there when he needed her and kept him in check helping him and teaching him right and wrong. But it all changed one night the twins had just celebrated their 5th birthday and then the bells in the town began to echo through the dark streets! “DROW ATTACK!!!”
The people could be heard outside screaming as giant spiders and spells could be heard rending flesh from bone. His mother and Father clutched him and minara tight…. That was the last they saw of mama and papa. Before his mother left, Zordan’s mother gave him a hug one last time and said “there is good in you Zordan don’t let anyone tell you who you are.” She made them hide under the house in the mushroom cellar. But it wasn’t hidden well enough and they heard a scream as footsteps entered the tiny home and creaked over the floorboards.
“Milfigrius!” they heard a deep voice shout and moments later they heard the sound of a lifeless body thud to the ground. He tried but he couldn’t hold it in “MAMA!” he shouted and then the door to cellar opened and in strode a figure with skin black as obsidian.
“Ah, here we are useful little slaves… they will mine well,” he sneered. They dragged Zordan and Minara from their house screaming that is the day… Maldarus came and took them to the high drow wizard.
They mined for years 30 years until one day Zordan with the bright ideas he always had zapped the chain away using a spell he had practiced and seen Maldarus do. Zordan had decided that before they left town, they should break into Maldarus’ home and try to steal his magic book so they could protect themselves and later get revenge. But Minara said “No Zordan, we should leave now and be free we don’t need the book.”
But Zordan insisted and so they ran into the streets of the drow town of Vuldun and searched for the Sewer entrance. Zordan had been planning this escape for 10 years and already had the map to enter from below that he had hidden in a hovel in the mine. “Now’s our chance!” he stammered, and they rushed out of the trap door and entered the hall way of the manor and tiptoed down till they reached the room. But something was off… they could feel it… it felt like they were being watched.
“I see you,” Maldarus’ voice echoed from behind. “You show promise for a worthless Gnome… but your sister.. Tsk tsk… she’s no good to me now is she?”
“No please!” cried Zordan, but it was too late. Maldarus, uttering the same words he had used to end Zordan’s parents, shot a green ray of death and it struck Minara.
He looked at the lifeless body of his sister… his best friend .. the only one keeping the darkness in check and that’s when he summoned it all the darkness that she had kept down… the power.

He blasted the drow off his feet and ran to the desk and grabbed the spell book of stitched leather on the table and slipped out back into the trap door before the drow could compose himself.
He didn’t remember how long he ran, but he ran for an eternity as long as he could out the sludge pipe and into the Underdark the tears welling in his eyes.
The drow had robbed him, but they wouldn’t win. He spent another 15 years after that learning the spells in the book growing in power and raiding drow shipments to the small town. Then the day came… the day the town ruled by Maldarus would burn. He led them his undead soldiers into the town and the slaughtered the drow all of them one by one they fell their screams like the screams of his gnome village so many years a go. Then he came to the great manor and he summoned his bravery screamed” COME OUT! And FACE ME! COME OUT MALDARUS YOU WRETCHED WORM!”

The wizard stepped out confident as he had always been smug even. “Well, well.. you scurried back didn’t you, you little rat, I’m so glad you could come all this way!.. JUST TO DIE!”
A bolt of black energy hit Zordan, withering his strength and hurling him over 20 feet into a wall. “Ahaha! Not so impressive are you pathetic gnome,” Maldarus laughed.
Zordan laid there and reached out into a black cave .. he remembered everything taken from him and all the evil wizard had stolen and again the Darkness welled up within him. But it was stronger now…. it had been nurtured these fifteen years and his eyes began to glow red.
“No Maldarus, it is you who are pathetic. In these 15 years I’ve mastered every spell in your book and made some of my own. I rule now and NO ONE WILL EVER TAKE anything from me! I’m no pathetic gnome! He died the day you stole my sister ….that gnome is dead!…. LONG LIVE THE WITCH KING!” screamed Zordan.
And with that, Zordan shot a horrible green bolt and Maldarus screamed as he withered, the moisture leaving his skin and his evil lifeless corpse shattered on the steps of his grand abode.
Zordan marched into his house as the city burned and took notes. He read about the location of a Tomb of a lich Rakoss the undying and a black glove and relics there so he traveled far to another continent and entered the tomb on a barren landscape and there he found the book of the Great lich who lived in the age before ages and the glove that was his symbol striking terror into the enemies of the emperor of D’Hara.
There he researched for 20 more years and learned the spells and about the Boxes of Orden and their key into giving him the power…. to… bring back…. Minara and he could rule everything. No one would ever be able to hurt her again he would have the power. He would protect her with an army of Darkness and create a Tower of Power a Black citadel.
They could live together forever and no one would ever hurt her again.. “This “Bone King” will give me what he wants, even if I have to go to the underworld to return his pathetic soul” and with that, Zordan set off to save his sister and gain the power only he had earned.
