- The party regrouped at the Market Inn, and discovered that Argone had departed during the night after conversing with Kiervasan because his dragon’s blood was urging him to return to Varoone to see if he could find out more about what happened to the good dragons.

- Kiervasan tells the rest of the party what happened, and gave Argone’s Axe of Demon Slaying to Jon to use until Argone returned.
- Molly, the Inn’s waitress, was very animated and quite upset. When asked if she had seen Argone, she blurted out that the Dharan patrols had probably taken him for breaking curfew, just like they had taken Horace.
- Molly shared her concern about Horace with Kate, Kamvase, and two other NPCs who were eating breakfast at the inn. Kate jumped up and yelled, “The Revolution has begun!”
- She led Kamvase and the other two NPCs out of the inn with a pledge to find Horace and strike a blow against the Dharan Empire!
- The party ignored her departure.
- Bride sounded in Kriick’s and Marston’s heads, begging them to come and get her. She had been taken from the underground passages that she had been in and brought into the street; although she was in a bag, she could feel the warmth of the daylight on the bag.
- She continued that they took her into an abandoned temple and left her lying on an altar.
- The party knew of a temple next to the markets and headed over to the markets for some shopping. After the shopping, they planned to sneak into the temple, grab Bride, and flee.
- At the market, they were handed a note from a merchant at the magic weapons/armor store that named each of them and said, “These adventurers are entitled to one uncommon magic item to be billed to the Grey Cloaks, signed, Teak D’Hara.”
- The party traded items, purchased new magic items, and used their letter of credit.
- They proceeded to the nearby church, which was a well-kept building.
- Kriick entered and, after quietly sneaking around, found a priest named Father Angus of the Temple of Fortitude. He denied knowing anything of a sword, and Kriick didn’t see any.
- Bride said that she was right there on an altar in an empty sanctuary.
- More banter with Father Angus, and Jon Marston gave him a donation and received a blessing of “advantage” on skill checks for the next 24-hours.

- After further discussions with Father Agnus, they realized that there was an abandoned temple just down the street.
- They headed to the abandoned temple, which was a stone-walled complex that had fallen into disrepair.
- Avari used a spell to explore as a spider and reported that Bride was inside on an altar with dried blood on it. The room was full of cobwebs and dirt, but there was evidence of some traffic on either side of the sanctuary—probably the party had that brought Bride in.
- Kriick and Marston heard Bride from inside, and they cautiously sneaked into the darkened sanctuary.
- They found Bride, but just as Marston picked her up, Maw Demons poured out of hidden side rooms, along with Karyn, the Mord-Sith.
- Karyn offered a trade—they would give her the Book of Counted Shadows and she would let them keep Bride.
- The party refused and a fight broke out. Keledek stepped out of a side room.
- He tried to Hold Person on Jon and Kriick, but through the help of Bride’s “love” for being rescued, they had advantage on saving throws for a while and made the save.
- Bride tastes blood from killing some of the weaker demons and gains in strength.
- Keledek cast Globe of Invulnerability, and the demons and Karyn swarmed Kriick and Jon.
- The rest of the party using magic, and shaping changing, including Avari turning into an Oliphant and smashing open the front door, comes in battles the demons.

- Keledek, realizing that they were not going to prevail, stepped forward, touched Karyn, and Plane Shifted them away.
- The party finished killing the demons and Jon was able to overcome Bride’s bloodlust and sheathed her before doing damage to the party.
- As the last of the Demon’s died, a spectral image of the Bone King appeared in the fire that Kiervasan cast and said, “I have been retained to deal with you. However, I have a proposition — come find me in my crypt.”
- The session ended.
