The party started in the vault room at the Solmor mansion.
The room was empty except for a dimension door mirror that could only be triggered by a Solmor. (How is that possible?)
The dimension door led to an underwater mansion that had a huge treasure room filled with gold, art, and ornamental weapons.
The party sensed a large sea monster outside the vault.
Andy was thrilled to have finally seen the family treasure vault!
An old man, a hooded woman, and Avari and Sun Feng arrived. The old man was the same one from session 2 who had wanted Argone to come to the mansion.
He shed the old man disguise and revealed himself to be Randy, Eda’s lover, who supposedly died in an accident a year ago.
The hooded woman revealed herself to be none other than Kym from the Empty Net, who also turned out to be Randy’s sister.
In explaining how they could have entered the mansion when only a Solmor could pass through the dimension door, Kym held up a skull and said “Owen let me in.”
Randy and Kym ordered Andy to give them Randy’s treasure map.
The party spread across the room and Randy and Andy wrestled over the treasure map, which was hidden in a painting of the Turtle Island.
At this time Keledek, Skerrin, and a number of powerful orcs (who had apparently skipped all of their attack training sessions, as would be demonstrated) arrived and demanded that everyone unhand the Solmor treasure.
Combat broke out and Keledek killed Andy with magic missiles.
Kym revived Andy, Randy took Andy hostage, and together they tried to head for the door.
Keledek overcame Jon with a series of Witch’s Bolts and Magic missiles, and Skerrin rushed down and grabbed Bride.
Skerrin, however, was killed trying to make his escape and dropped Bride at the top of the vault stairs. Andy was also killed again.
Kym was killed by Avari and Sun Feng in a team attack with Avari riding Sun Feng, who had turned into a huge blue bear.
As Kym died, the skull she had been holding fell onto the floor and a ghost emerged from the skull— the ghost of Owen Solmor.
The ghost possessed Randy and started towards Keledek, but then Mary Solmor’s ghost took possession of Andy’s dead body, and Andy and Randy started fighting again, trying choking each other. Mary’s ghost screamed that Owen had wrecked the family and he was not going to cheat on her and run out again.
At this time a Kraken slammed into the windows of the vault, cracking one enough to get his tentacles in.
Keledeck rushed forward, grabbed Bride, and rushed to the mirror. Interestingly, neither he nor Skerrin had been shocked when they touched Bride, even though they had not bonded with her.
Jon Marston rushed forward to try to stop Keledeck and nearly succeeded, but Keledeck escaped him with just 1 HP and took Bride!
Water started to pour into the room.
River and the rest of the party tried to stop Keledeck from taking Bride through the dimension door, but failed.
Sun Feng and Avari rushed forward, and using mage hand, grabbed Owen’s skull and the treasure maps.
As they tried to rush toward the door, a tentacle grabbed Sun Feng while Avari Misty Stepped away.
The two ghosts stopped fighting each other for one round and gave chase as the party ran to the mirror.
Sun Feng, using his bear strength, broke free from the tentacle and ran to the mirror. Avari thrust Owen’s skull through the mirror, opening the dimension door and allowing the party to pour through.
Just as the party went through, Avari threw the skull back into the mirror just as the two ghosts tried to reach through the mirror.
With the mirror sealed and all three Solmors trapped in the now flooded vault, Argone revealed that he was hearing the “Dragon’s Call” and needed to head to the island of Varoon to respond to it.
The session ended and Tier 1 of the Campaign ENDED.
